May 31, 2025

Subang, August 2025 – Students from the D3 Information Management Study Program at Piksi Ganesha Polytechnic Bandung carried out an internship program at Sari Ater Hot Springs Ciater, focusing on strengthening digital marketing strategies through graphic design and information technology support. During the three-month internship, the students actively contributed to two divisions simultaneously: the IT team and the marketing team.
In the field of information technology, the students were involved in system maintenance and basic troubleshooting to ensure smooth company operations. Meanwhile, in the marketing division, their main contributions included creating digital visual content, ranging from graphic design for social media, corporate presentations, to promotional materials aimed at tourists.
Under the guidance of Ms. Karina Wahyu N, a lecturer in Information Management, and accompanied by Mr. Adhi Britani as a supervisor from Sari Ater Hot Springs Ciater, the students were directed to develop measurable solutions to various challenges encountered in the field, from reservation data management, information system integration, to digital service innovations.
“We want students not only to learn theory in the classroom but also to be able to identify real problems and formulate solutions based on information technology. Hopefully, this experience will be a valuable asset for their professional careers,” said Karina Wahyu.
A representative from Sari Ater Hot Springs Ciater added that collaborations between universities and the tourism industry provide mutual benefits. “Students can learn directly from the field, while we also gain fresh ideas for developing better digital systems,” he said.
Through this internship program, students are expected to be more prepared to face the challenges of the professional world while also contributing to the development of information technology in the sustainable tourism sector. Beyond technical experience, students also successfully built strong professional relationships with mentors and colleagues across divisions. The collaboration and communication developed during the internship will serve as an important foundation for navigating a workforce that demands synergy across fields.
This activity also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically:
- SDG 4 (Quality Education): providing contextual learning experiences based on real practices.
- SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): encouraging students to understand digitalization systems in tourism that enhance service quality and industry competitiveness.
- SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure): introducing the use of information technology in managing sustainable tourism infrastructure.
