Strengthening Health Information Management Graduates’ Competence through the National Competency Test Try Out at Politeknik Piksi Ganesha
Bandung, June 28–29, 2025

In an effort to support the improvement of healthcare graduates’ quality and as part of the implementation of the Graduate Competency Standards for the Diploma III Program in Medical Records and Health Information (D3 RMIK), the Medical Record and Health Information Professional Collegium (Kolegium PMIK) organized a nationwide Try Out (TO) for the National Competency Test (UKOM). This event was held simultaneously across Indonesia, including at the CBT Center of Politeknik Piksi Ganesha Bandung, on June 28–29, 2025.
The Try Out aims to systematically prepare final-year students for the actual UKOM. By providing direct experience in answering case-based (vignette) questions using a Computer-Based Test (CBT) system, the activity serves to measure students’ readiness in accordance with the competency domains set by the Kolegium PMIK.
As an educational institution with a D3 RMIK study program, Politeknik Piksi Ganesha actively participated by providing its CBT Center as an official venue for the TO UKOM. The facility was designed to ensure smooth technical operations and to replicate the real testing environment of the UKOM.
Through this program, students gained a clear understanding of the UKOM question standards, identified their strengths and weaknesses in problem-solving, and received feedback that can be used to refine their future study strategies. Additionally, the activity functions as an institutional evaluation tool to measure the effectiveness of the learning process and the readiness of graduates to enter the workforce.
By successfully conducting the TO UKOM, it is expected that students will significantly enhance their overall competence and achieve the best possible results in the upcoming National Competency Test.
