Physiotherapy Study Program – Politeknik Piksi Ganesha

In an effort to enhance the knowledge, skills, and creativity of physiotherapy students, the Physiotherapy Study Program of Politeknik Piksi Ganesha organized the competition “Smart Skeleton Musculoskeletal System Challenge.” This competition was designed as both a contest and a learning platform, focusing on the understanding of the structure, function, and interconnection of the musculoskeletal system in the human body.

The musculoskeletal system comprising bones, joints, muscles, and supporting tissues serves as the foundation of human movement and functional activities. Through this competition, participants were challenged to assemble, organize, and present the interrelations of the musculoskeletal structures accurately, logically, and scientifically.

Objectives of the Competition

  1. To improve students’ cognitive abilities in understanding musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology.
  2. To train psychomotor skills by assembling anatomical models of the musculoskeletal system.
  3. To encourage creativity in presenting anatomical knowledge visually, interactively, and engagingly.
  4. To foster sportsmanship and teamwork in a positive academic atmosphere.

The competition was held at the Physiotherapy Laboratory of Politeknik Piksi Ganesha, with Mr. Abdul Qudus, S.Kep., M.MKes. serving as the judge. Participants were provided with anatomical model materials and tasked with assembling specific parts of the musculoskeletal system according to given instructions. After the assembly, students were also required to explain the function, role, and connection of those parts within the human movement system. Assessment criteria included accuracy, speed, creativity, and clarity in presentation.

Through this activity, physiotherapy students were expected not only to understand theory but also to apply their anatomical knowledge in a practical context. The competition became a fun, challenging, and meaningful learning medium to support the development of skilled and professional future physiotherapists.
