Exploring the World of Physiotherapy Careers through Industry Visits

July 30th, 2025

As a health service oriented study program, Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in supporting recovery, prevention, and improving patients’ quality of life. Along with the increasing demand for physiotherapy services across various sectors, students are not only required to master theories and practical skills in the classroom but also to gain an in-depth understanding of how the physiotherapy profession truly operates in the workplace.

To bridge this need, the Physiotherapy Study Program of Politeknik Piksi Ganesha organized an Industry Visit Program under the theme “Exploring the World of Physiotherapy Careers through Industry Visits.” The activity aimed to broaden students’ perspectives on the application of physiotherapy in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, fitness centers, and other healthcare facilities. The visit was guided by Mr. Abdul Qudus, S.Kep., M.MKes., a lecturer and Secretary of the Physiotherapy Study Program.

Through this visit, students had the opportunity to directly observe how physiotherapists treat patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, and movement disorders. They also engaged in discussions with practitioners, learned about service workflows, and explored the use of modern technologies in physiotherapy interventions.

Beyond strengthening academic knowledge, this program also enhanced students’ readiness to face workplace challenges. They were introduced to professional ethics, interprofessional communication, and service standards that apply in real-world practice. Such exposure provided valuable experience in shaping professional, adaptive, and competent future physiotherapists.

The industry visit was not just an outdoor learning activity but also a strategic momentum to connect theory with real practice. It motivated students to keep developing themselves, innovate, and prepare to contribute meaningfully to the ever-evolving healthcare sector.
