Introducing Indonesian Culture through Batik Dance at the International Language Camp in Bangkok, Thailand

Thaksina Business Technological College, Bangkok, Thailand, August 25, 2025

Politeknik Piksi Ganesha proudly introduced Indonesian culture through the performance of Tarian Batik (Batik Dance) at the International Language Camp held at Thaksina Business Technological College, Bangkok, Thailand. This cultural showcase not only highlighted the richness of Indonesia’s traditional art but also strengthened cross-cultural understanding among students from different countries.

The Batik Dance performance symbolized the elegance of Indonesian heritage, where each movement reflects harmony, gratitude, and respect for cultural diversity. The dancers wore costumes inspired by traditional batik patterns, bringing forward the philosophy of unity in diversity (Bhinneka Tunggal Ika) to an international stage.

The event became a platform for promoting cultural diversity, tolerance, and global partnerships, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 4 (Quality Education): fostering intercultural learning, global awareness, and respect for cultural values among students.
  • SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities): preserving, revitalizing, and promoting cultural heritage through traditional dance.
  • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): strengthening international cooperation through educational and cultural exchange.

By introducing Batik Dance in Thailand, this activity encouraged students to embrace cultural diplomacy, develop global competencies, and strengthen friendships between Indonesia and other nations. Such initiatives contribute to sustainable cultural development while inspiring young generations to take pride in their heritage and share it with the world.
