Empowering Women Through Skincare Education: A Step Toward Health and Equality

Piksi Ganesha Polytechnic – 28 May 2025

In a proactive step toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Politeknik Piksi Ganesha, in collaboration with Watsons Indonesia, recently hosted a Women’s Skincare Health Education Program. The initiative was designed to empower women within the academic community by promoting not only physical well-being but also confidence and self-care awareness—directly supporting SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 5: Gender Equality.

The event welcomed enthusiastic participation from female lecturers and staff who were eager to deepen their understanding of personal skincare and holistic health. Skincare, often overlooked in broader health conversations, plays a crucial role in overall wellness and self-esteem—making this initiative both timely and impactful.

The interactive session featured a dedicated team from Watsons Indonesia, who led discussions and demonstrations focused on:

  • The importance of healthy skin as part of overall well-being
  • Identifying and choosing the right skincare for different skin types
  • Natural and safe skincare routines
  • Hands-on demonstrations and open dialogue through Q\&A sessions

Beyond the practical tips, the session created a safe and engaging space for women to connect, share, and learn together. It emphasized that health education—when made accessible and inclusive—can become a powerful tool for empowerment.

By specifically targeting women in academia, the program acknowledged the unique needs and challenges women face in managing both professional and personal well-being. Empowering women with health knowledge, particularly in areas that boost self-confidence and self-worth, is essential in advancing gender equality. The initiative supports the vision that women deserve equal access to resources that enhance their physical and emotional resilience. Politeknik Piksi Ganesha and Watsons Indonesia hope this initiative will inspire similar programs in other institutions—ensuring that health education becomes a shared responsibility and a celebrated right for all women.
