Training on Social Media Marketing and Visual Product Design Empowers Hydroponic Entrepreneurs in Bandung

Bandung, August 7, 2025

The Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Politeknik Piksi Ganesha successfully conducted a one-day training session on Social Media Marketing and Visual Product Design for Hydroponics on Thursday, August 7, 2025. This initiative is part of the Kampus Mengabdi Program under the Community Empowerment Scheme (PKM), funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) 2025, aimed at fostering urban agriculture entrepreneurship.

The training, held at the Community Hall of RW 05, Maleer Subdistrict, Batununggal District, Bandung City, gathered local small business owners, housewives, youth members, and community partners who had previously engaged in hydroponic cultivation training. The program focused on equipping participants with practical skills to market hydroponic products effectively through digital platforms and to create appealing product visuals to attract online customers.

Participants were introduced to core social media marketing techniques across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Business. The curriculum included copywriting, product storytelling, branding strategies tailored for hydroponic goods, and beginner-friendly graphic design using Canva. Attendees also engaged in hands-on activities to develop promotional content under the guidance of digital marketing experts, visual communication lecturers, and technopreneur alumni from Politeknik Piksi Ganesha.

“Our goal is to empower the community not only to grow quality hydroponic products but also to thrive in the digital marketplace. By enhancing their marketing and design skills, we hope to boost their business sustainability and economic independence,” said Dr. Candra Mecca Sufyana, Head of LPPM Politeknik Piksi Ganesha.

This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), and Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12). It reflects a comprehensive approach to community development through education and entrepreneurship.
