Driving Academic Excellence: Politeknik Piksi Ganesha Enhances Scientific Writing and Publication Quality

Politeknik Piksi Ganesha Bandung participated in the 2025 Accredited Journal Assistance and Development Workshop, organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology through the Directorate General of Research and Development, in collaboration with Universitas Jenderal Ahmad Yani. The event took place on Tuesday (August 12) at Universitas Jenderal Ahmad Yani Campus, Cimahi.

The intensive 11.5-hour workshop (08:00–19:30 WIB) was attended by representatives from 40 universities in Bandung, involving lecturers, researchers, and journal managers from various academic and research institutions across Indonesia. The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacity of authors and journal managers in producing high-quality, ethical, and accredited scientific publications at both national and international levels.

The program featured distinguished experts in scientific publishing, including:

  • Prof. Amirul Mukminin, who emphasized the importance of crafting effective titles, article structures, and research methodologies.
  • Prof. Parmin, who presented strategies for writing results and discussion sections that highlight novelty and real contributions.
  • Prof. Siti, who explained the use of information technology in writing, reference management, and journal submission processes.
  • Prof. Renea, who highlighted the importance of publication ethics, scientific integrity, as well as preventing plagiarism and the misuse of artificial intelligence.

In addition to plenary sessions, the workshop was divided into two parallel classes: Journal Management Training and Scientific Article Writing Training. Participants engaged in hands-on sessions, learning how to draft manuscripts according to academic standards, leverage digital tools, and avoid predatory journals.

In his remarks, a representative of the organizers stated:

“We are committed to improving the quality of scientific publications so that more national journals achieve accreditation and international recognition, thereby strengthening Indonesia’s contribution to global knowledge development.”

Representing Politeknik Piksi Ganesha, [Candra Mecca Sufyana, Head of LPPM], added:

“This workshop is a valuable opportunity for our lecturers and journal managers to deepen their knowledge and skills in academic publishing. The insights gained will not only strengthen the quality of journals at Politeknik Piksi Ganesha but also contribute to building stronger academic networks and advancing research collaborations nationally and internationally.”

As a follow-up, participants are expected to disseminate the training materials within their respective academic environments, ensuring continuous learning and sustainable impact.

Through this initiative, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology reaffirmed its commitment to advancing research and scientific publication as part of Indonesia’s strategy to enhance global competitiveness.
