Piksi Ganesha Polytechnic Empowers The Local Community by Providing Training and Education About Proper Waste Segregation in Households

Politeknik Piksi Ganesha is proud to announce the successful implementation of its Community Service Program (PKM), focused on promoting proper household waste sorting and integrated training for a healthy and empowered environment.
Titled “From Waste to Blessings: Education, Action, and Solutions,” this impactful program aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1, 11, 12, 13, and 17, addressing critical issues such as poverty alleviation, sustainable cities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, and global partnerships.
The program was carried out through a community-based approach, engaging 40 representatives from the Waste-Free Area (Kawasan Bebas Sampah) in Maleer Village to participate in educational activities and hands-on workshops. This training and education features speakers M. Riyanto from the environmental agency and Sani Fitriyani who is an expert in the field of public health. By empowering local residents with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage household waste, Politeknik Piksi Ganesha aims to foster a sustainable and eco-friendly community. “At Politeknik Piksi Ganesha, we believe in the transformative power of education and community engagement,” said Candra Mecca Sufyana, Head of LPPM Politeknik Piksi Ganesha. “Through this integrated program, we are not only imparting valuable knowledge but also inspiring tangible action towards a healthier and more empowered environment.” The program’s comprehensive curriculum covered various aspects of waste management, including proper sorting techniques, recycling methods, and the conversion of organic waste into compost. Participants also learned about the importance of sustainable consumption patterns and the impact of individual actions on the environment. By equipping the local community with the necessary tools and resources, Politeknik Piksi Ganesha aims to create a ripple effect, where the knowledge and skills gained during the program will be shared and implemented within the broader community, leading to a more sustainable and resilient future. “We are thrilled to see the positive impact of our Community Service Program and the enthusiasm of the local community in embracing these waste management solutions,” added [Een Ratningsih, Head og=f Village Maleer]. “This is just the beginning, and we are committed to continuing our efforts to create a cleaner, greener, and more prosperous environment for all.”
