ACAD CSIRT Summit 2025: Politeknik Piksi Ganesha Supports Strengthening Cybersecurity in Higher Education with BSSN

Maranatha University-Politeknik Piksi Ganesha, represented by the D3 Information Management Study Program, took part in a strategic event organized by the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), namely the National Cybersecurity Policy and Data Protection Regulation Socialization in conjunction with the ACAD CSIRT Summit 2025. The event, held on July 9–11, 2025 at Maranatha Christian University, carried the theme “Building a National Cyber Resilience Ecosystem through Industry, Government, and Academia Collaboration” and brought together participants from academia, industry, and government.
In the main session of the National Conference titled “Shape the Future of Cybersecurity: Connect, Inspire, and Lead”, Head of BSSN RI Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Drs. Nugroho Sulistyo Budi, M.M., M.Han., delivered a presentation on “Strengthening National Academic Cyber Resilience in the Era of AI and Quantum Computing.” Also present were Yudhistira Nugraha, S.T., M.ICT Adv., D.Phil., Head of the Center for Data and Information Technology, who discussed “Data Integration and Cybersecurity in Education,” and Dr. Lukman, S.T., M.Hum., Head of LLDikti Region IV. Meanwhile, Dean of the Faculty of Smart Technology and Engineering (FTRC), Oscar Karnalim, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of public literacy and collective awareness in addressing growing cyber threats in line with technological advancements.
The series of activities included the socialization of the national cybersecurity policy, discussions on data protection regulations, the handover of ACAD CSIRT Summit guidance documents for universities, as well as a coordination forum among higher education institutions in the field of cybersecurity.
The Head of the D3 Information Management Study Program, Karina Wahyu N, and the Secretary of the Study Program, Rini Tisnwati, attended to reaffirm the institution’s commitment to strengthening data security governance within the academic environment. Karina stressed that information security is a social responsibility that upholds public trust while ensuring the sustainability of digital education. Echoing this, Rini Tisnwati added that these efforts support a secure, transparent, and sustainable digital transformation.
In its remarks, BSSN underlined that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, and collaboration among universities through ACAD CSIRT is key to strengthening data protection, safeguarding privacy, and supporting national digital sovereignty.
The presence of ACAD CSIRT on campus is expected to foster early detection systems, incident response, and recovery from cyberattacks, thereby securing academic community data, research confidentiality, and IT governance in a safe and transparent manner. Furthermore, this initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). Through enhancing cybersecurity literacy and infrastructure, Politeknik Piksi Ganesha contributes to building higher education that is innovative, secure, and competitive in the digital era.
