Sigay Kauyagan in Mindanao State University Welcomes Politeknik Piksi Ganesha Visit for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry

December 2^nd, 2024 – Mindanao, Philippines

The visit, which brought together from both institutions, focused on fostering, farming, and animal husbandry partnerships to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to education, sustainability, and cultural preservation.

A highlight of the visit was an integrating SDG 13 (Climate Action) into university initiatives. Faculty members from both universities exchanged ideas on how to enhance educational programs that empower students to become active agents of change in their communities in Livestock farming refers to the practice of breeding and raising animals for food, fiber, and other products. Next, for Animal husbandry refers more specifically to the care, breeding, and management of animals.

One of the key outcomes of the visit was the creation of a joint task force to explore potential partnerships in research on sustainable agricultural and fostering practices and environmental protection. This aligns with both institutions’ goals to foster practical solutions to environmental issues, particularly in rural and indigenous communities where agriculture plays a crucial role in livelihoods.
