Coordination (industrial visits) with PT Biotrop, Perum Jasa Tirta and PT Makerindo as an effort to broaden the Lecturers’ insight into the Business and Industrial World

Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Alignment between SPV (Vocational Education Unit) and Industrial Partners with the theme “Collaboration of Education and Industry: Competency-Based Curriculum” is an activity that aims to create an agreement between education and industrial partners regarding the development of a curriculum that is relevant to the needs of the industry, especially in terms of competencies that must be possessed by graduates.

The objectives of the FGD are Alignment of the Curriculum with Industrial Needs, Collaboration that Improves the Quality of Education, Increasing the Relevance of Taught Competencies, Increasing Cooperation between Education and the Industrial World and creating a deeper understanding of how the world of education can adapt to rapid changes in the industry.

This activity was attended by partners from PKHT (Center for Tropical Horticulture Studies), Prof. Dr. Awang Maharijaya, S.P., M.Sc. and partners from PT.Makerindo, Agus Mulyana, M.T. and 15 participants who are lecturers in the IT and Business Economics groups of the Piksi Ganesha Polytechnic.

The results discussed from this FGD activity were to identify the gap between the skills taught in education and the skills needed by the industrial world, as well as to develop steps to align the two, including in terms of learning, curriculum, facilities and infrastructure, and human resources for alumni tracers and the signing of cooperation as a follow-up towards better education.
