September 10, 2024 –  Politeknik Piksi Ganesha

Politeknik Piksi Ganesha (PPG), is proud to announce its partnership with the local sub-district government in an effort to reduce the prevalence of stunting in the region.

Stunting, a condition characterized by impaired growth and development in children, is a significant public health issue in Indonesia. According to the 2018 Basic Health Research survey, the national stunting prevalence in Indonesia was 30.8%, with some regions reporting even higher rates. Addressing this challenge is a key priority for the Indonesian government and local communities.

Through this collaboration, PPG will leverage its expertise in health sciences to support the sub-district’s initiatives aimed at tackling stunting. The partnership will involve a multi-faceted approach, including:

  1. Training and capacity building: PPG will provide training and workshops to local healthcare workers, community leaders, and parents on best practices for nutrition, sanitation, and early childhood development to prevent and manage stunting.
  2. Research and data collection: PPG’s faculty and students will conduct research to better understand the root causes of stunting in the local context and develop evidence-based interventions.
  3. Community outreach and awareness: PPG will spearhead public awareness campaigns to educate the community on the importance of proper nutrition, hygiene, and early childhood care in reducing stunting.
  4. Collaborative program development: PPG will work closely with the sub-district government to design and implement targeted programs that address the specific needs of the local community.

“Politeknik Piksi Ganesha is committed to making a positive impact on the communities we serve,” said [Prihartono], the Director of Politeknik Piksi Ganesha. “By partnering with the local sub-district, we aim to leverage our expertise in health sciences to tackle the pressing issue of stunting and improve the overall well-being of children and families in the region.”

This collaboration aligns with PPG’s mission to provide practical, industry-oriented education that addresses the pressing needs of Indonesia. By bridging the gap between academia and the community, PPG is demonstrating its dedication to driving sustainable development and improving the quality of life for all.
